Detackifiers

When painting a piece, not all the paint particles settle on it. The excess paint (overspay) that cannot be fixed on the piece is collected by the water curtain. This paint has a sticky consistency and is known as "living" paint. The presence of live paint in the process causes clogging of the filters, damage to the suction pumps and a malfunction of the water curtain. Our detactifying products have the function of, being present in the water curtain, grouping those paint particles together and forming a rubber that does not leave any color residue on the hand and that can be easily removed from the process by means of flotation (paling). or spin.

P.D.T. Plus

Liquid paint booth compound that is used as an adjunct with DuBois' Poly D-Tac line of paint detackifiers. It aids in the complete detackification of hard-to-kill solvent based paints and minimizes corrosion. P.D.T. Plus helps to keep a waterwash paint booth clean and running properly.

Poly D-Tac 200 is effective on a wide variety of paints, including waterborne coatings, in an alkaline pH range. Poly D-Tac 200 is also effective on blends of solvent based and waterborne paints.

Coatings

Water-Based

Water-based product that is applied to the interior walls of the paint booth with a roller or brush, and that when drying forms a plastic film that is easy to remove.

Filmite Clear

Concentrated translucent liquid material for spraying or brushing on dry areas of paint spray booths, to keep paint overspray from sticking to the surface. Filmite Clear produces a soft, waxy mat which can quickly and easily be scraped away. Ideal for dry paint booths, Filmite Clear stays tacky and will hold airborne contaminants. May be used on lighting fixtures or other areas where a translucent coating is desired.

Filmite TBC

Water-based tacky coating that remains tacky for a long period of time at temperatures up to 180°F (82°C). Its viscosity provides excellent surface retention, allowing for easy application to both horizontal and vertical surfaces. The clear, tacky coating formed by Filmite TBC effectively traps airborne particulates, therefore providing cleaner paint jobs and minimizing rework due to airborne particulates. In addition to paint spray booths, Filmite TBC can be used for flash-off zones and oven vestibules.

Filmite WB

Temporary, white strippable coating for spray paint booth walls, ceilings, floors and other peelable surfaces where paint over-spray accumulation must be readily removed. It will maximize paint booth illumination and remain nondusting. Application of this white, peelable booth coating will result in optimum paint finish and minimize rejects. Filmite WB is well-stabilized against brittleness, and it will not be affected by solvent-based paints. When cured, Filmite WB is resistant to water, alkali, and heat.

• Once cured, it provides an extremely tough, uniform film thickness.

• Curing time can be cut in half with the use of increasing temperatures up to 100°F.

GF MASK COTE 485S

Water-soluble barrier coat, formulated for use in Pressure Type Mask Washers. The removal of solvent-based paint is dependent on barrier concentration, heat, impingement and tooling condition.

H.S. Filmite

High solid, water-based peelable coating for use in dry areas of paint booths. It air dries to form a strong white, elastic film. H.S. Filmite may be used on any non-porous, smooth surface, metal, glass or plastics. It contains no hazardous volatile organic compounds (VOC's).

Pigmented Filmite

Concentrated material for spraying or brushing on dry walls and floors of paint spray booths, to keep paint overspray from sticking. Pigmented Filmite produces a bright, dry mat which can quickly be removed by scraping or pressure washing.

Filmite SB

White, peelable, solvent-based coating for wet paint booths. It is a fast-drying maskant that forms a tough, yet flexible, film, making it easy to peel.

pH Adjusters

Wide variety of pH regulating solutions. It is a mixture in relatively high concentrations of an acid and its conjugate base. They have the property of keeping the pH of a solution stable against the addition of relatively small amounts of strong acids or bases. This fact is of vital importance in processes where it is necessary to maintain the pH in a controlled range.

Liquid Buffer NT

Provides corrosion control and aids in paint overspray detackification. When used with Poly-D-Tac products, Liquid Buffer N.T. provides a complete water-wash maintenance program through effective pH and alkalinity adjustment.
