This stage is the most important since the quality of the cleaning influences the quality of the final product, and for this a detergent is used. Detergents are products made up of a base (acids or alkalis), surfactants, additives, and a solvent (mostly water). Due to its base, there are alkaline detergents (based on sodium or potassium hydroxide) that help remove grease and other types of organic residues from the surface, and acid detergents, which help in the elimination of incrustations and inorganic residues such as oxide. The cleaning stage must ensure a residue-free surface that meets the requirements of the next step of the process. GF CLEAN 752

A moderately alkaline liquid, low foam, low temperature cleaner that is primarily designed to clean steel, stainless steel, iron, copper, brass, magnesium and other metals that are not sensitive to alkali etch.

Benefits:

• Removes most soils, such as ordinary shop soils, rust preventive film, cutting or stamping oils, etc.

• Processing temperature can be reduced substantially in spray cleaning.

Liquid Ferro-TERJ

Non-phosphated spray wash product that is very economical to use. It is very effective for cleaning off shop soils, water soluble metalworking fluids, and light oils. Liquid Ferro-TERJ is commonly used in processes that run primarily ferrous metals and occasionally aluminum. Liquid Ferro-TERJ is ideal for cleaning prior to phosphatizing.

Liquid MC-787

versatile heavy-duty liquid spray wash cleaner for ferrous metals. It removes tough soils such as; heavy grease, straight oil cutting & pressworking fluids, carbonized soils, most oil based paints, light scale and flash rust. Liquid MC-787 is a blend of alkaline detergents, carbonized oil solubilizers, de-sludging compounds, rust and hard water sequestrants, soil penetrating agents and rinse additives.

Multi-metals

Detergents specially made to be applied on surfaces based on Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, Tin, Bronze, among others, leaving a surface free of residues and without staining or attacking non-ferrous metals.

GF CLEAN 752M

Specially formulated to clean mixed metals of aluminum, aluminum die castings and steel at substantially low temperatures. Unlike most non-etch aluminum cleaners that perform well only at high temperatures near 160°F and higher, GF CLEAN 752M works well even in unheated solutions as well as temperatures up to 180°F. Additionally, GF CLEAN 752M works exceptionally well on steel, iron and stainless steel also.

ISW-24

Non-silicated, non-caustic liquid spray wash cleaner is ideal for in-process spray wash cleaning. It is used on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals with exceptional applications on aluminum. ISW-24 is formulated to rinse easily and reject oil providing easy skimming to extend bath life.

• Popular for use in in-process cabinet type spray wash systems.

• Non-silicated, non-caustic, phosphated liquid spray wash cleaner.

• Excellent for cleaning off light to medium soils, such as water-soluble metal working fluids and shop soils.

LIQUID 422

Heavy-duty liquid cleaner for multi- metal cleaning in spray wash systems. Its formula allows heavy soils such as; straight oil cutting and pressworking fluids, greases and shop soils to be cleaned off non-ferrous as well as ferrous metals. LIQUID 422 is ideal for use prior to phosphatizing. This product should be your product of choice when cleaning tough soils from non-ferrous and ferrous metals.

Met-ALL TERJ

Multi-metal safe cleaner designed to be used in low temperature, high-pressure spray wash systems. It is excellent for use in cabinet type spray units. Met-ALL TERJ not only is very effective at removing heavy carbonized soils but it has an excellent low foaming, detergent package that penetrates tenacious greases and oils quickly removing them from the surface being cleaned. It is commonly used in the first cleaning steps during reconditioning of remanufactured goods.

Benefits:

• Low foaming at water temperatures as low as 80°F; saves energy and eliminates foam-over risk.
